Thank you for visiting my campaign website. More importantly, thank you for supporting my candidacy for Alameda County Superior Court Judge. As a citizen of Alameda County, you deserve a judicial officer who has both extensive legal experience and displays a dedication to the citizens of Alameda County. I am proud and honored to be endorsed by the Honorable Gordon Baranco, who occupies the seat for which I am running and who will retire after more than 30 years as a Judge in this county.
I am currently an Assistant District Attorney at the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office where I head the Human Exploitation and Trafficking (H.E.A.T) Unit. I manage a team of attorneys and support staff who prosecute traffickers and engage the community and law enforcement in trainings on Human Trafficking. I am equally committed to ensuring that all parties are treated fairly by the criminal justice system.
My ties to the Bay Area legal community are strong. Over the last sixteen years, I dedicated many hours to the Charles Houston Bar Association and the California Association of Black Lawyers, where I served as President of both organizations. I continue to be an active member of both groups and have mentored a number of young lawyers and law students at Berkeley Law. Additionally, I served on the board of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the National Bar Association, where we worked with other Bar Associations to ensure fairness in the legal profession as well as promoting professionalism in practice, and expanding the pipeline to law school and legal employment.
Originally from the Central Valley and raised by a single parent, I moved to the Bay Area in 1989 to attend college at the University of California at Berkeley, where I remained to obtain my law degree. I am the first person in my immediate family to attend law school and I am very grateful for the strong work ethic and drive, instilled in me by my mother. As a 27-year resident of Alameda County and a practicing lawyer for 18+years within the county, my roots in this community are strong and I am committed to ensuring fairness on the bench and bringing a wealth of experience to the bench.
Thank you again for your consideration and please consider endorsing me, volunteering your time or donating to my campaign.
